I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

The 2TB deal won't work because it already has an instant savings coupon applied to it. Price is 125.49 minus instant savings coupon of 25.50 makes it 99.99, and the 25 off 75 coupon from eBay says "... must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies."

Seems like the experts (ie. DH Data Recovery) are really not into WD passport; they prefer Seagate.

2 of any. I don't like any WD Passport - I prefer the Seagate portable drives. Desktop are pretty similar for the most part. Try checking reviews before you buy and if the data is valuable then buy 2 drives

Further Passport bashing can be seen here and here

Hey DH, How does the Toshiba Canvio (which happens to be the #1 best seller on Amazon in External hard Drives), the HGST Touro S (which has best customer reviews on Amazon in External Hardrdives), and the Silicon Power compare?

1 no rebate involved here, you get the VGC instantly, 2 when you buy the 2TB drive you also get $25 from amex
