Updated.

"Airlines such as Lion Air that operate the 737 MAX9 with 221 seats need another exit row, so the plane was designed to accommodate that. That exit row door has a portal window.

Alaska operates the plane type with 178 seats, as does IcelandAir, while United operates it with 179 seats, so they don’t need the extra exit rows."

How in the world are two airlines able to have a difference of 43 seats on a plane like that?

No F or E+ class and tighter pitch in Y.

so why would anyone put less seats on their plane? 43 seats certainly outweighs higher prices of first class seats no? E+ seats are 95% upgrades anyway

They will lose elites if they can't upgrade to E+

Possibly a lot more than 5% are paid

We don't know the numbers of first class and how much money would otherwise be paid for standard economy seats

People pay for E+.
CO never had E+, but they saw UA's numbers during the merger and immediately said they would bring E+ fleetwide. Which was then copied by everyone other network carrier.

LOL.

Boeing went to garbage when they merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. And the MAX issues long predate 2022.

I'm booked on a Max 737-9 flight for this Sunday. Is it as good as canceled?

Very likely. Try to change it?

737-900 is the max 9 correct?
All the flights on that route that day are the 737 Max 9 except for one that's the max 8. Should I switch to that?
