so why would anyone put less seats on their plane? 43 seats certainly outweighs higher prices of first class seats no? E+ seats are 95% upgrades anyway

They will lose elites if they can't upgrade to E+

Possibly a lot more than 5% are paid

We don't know the numbers of first class and how much money would otherwise be paid for standard economy seats

People pay for E+.
CO never had E+, but they saw UA's numbers during the merger and immediately said they would bring E+ fleetwide. Which was then copied by everyone other network carrier.

Boeing went to garbage when they merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. And the MAX issues long predate 2022.
