These are the models they say are compatible:

Arris TM822 - 2 port 3.0 modem
Arris TM804 - 4 Port 3.0 modem

I think any DOCSIS 3.0 modem would work (for internet only without phone), if you could only convince them to activate it on their network. I will try to convince them to activate my ARRIS SurfBoard SB6121 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem.

But alas, the installer refused to connect my modem. I have to rent theirs, unless I buy one of those two models.

Impossible. You cant even do AOL's anymore (with certain exceptions)

Has to be transferred to an account that currently has unlimited data.

It uses sprint service. I'm happy with sprint but depends on location.

It looks like the "unlimited" plan is $50/month.

I can get Verizon's "copper wires" - 1mbps for $40/mo. (plus tax). I'm wondering how slow that'll be. Maybe it's worth a try, though...

And if you really need to watch it in HD, hit pause and wait for it to download, or if that fails, use software to download the whole video before you start watching.
