Seven Mile Market - supposedly the largest kosher supermarket in the country.

Market Maven (formerly Seasons) - great prices for meat and chicken, also good place for shabbos food

Hotels:
Only 1 Close and decent hotel to Jewish area (but not quite walking distance) is this Hilton Doubletree

Airbnb in the frum community:
Eruv Inn
Edelweiss - Located about 15 minutes from the frum community, practically next door to Ateres Elka wedding hall

Otherwise, there are a number of nice hotels downtown (which is also the inner harbor area) and near BWI airport. There are no shuls in the downtown area with regular minyanim, aside from Mincha minyanim in various offices.

Restaurants in the Jewish area (in no particular order):

Dairy

Dunkin Donuts - 2 kosher locations
Here and Here

Croustille Cafe French Bakery - French bakery with many delicious dairy and pareve bakery items.

Milk & Honey Bistro - dairy homestyle cooking

Goldberg's Bagels - very good bagels and free wifi.

Mama Leah's - pizza that is a bit different, but IMHO (Lunatic), the best pizza in Baltimore

Tov Pizza - classic pizza shop - Mocha thinks this is a hell of a lot better than ^

Caramel's - pizza shop, also has sushi

Cocoaccinos/Pie 18 - cafe with sandwiches and salads, as well as custom made brick oven pizza

Playa Bowls Quarry Lake - "the original Acai bowl" - lots of great pareve options as well, delicious bowls

Pareve

Sushi Sakura
Cinnaholic Owings Mills - This location only was recently certified kosher pareve (across from the area Costco).

Meat

David Chu's - Reasonably priced great Chinese food and good sushi. Dan's rating - 7.25/10
Address: 7105 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21215
Phone:(410) 602-5008
Not to be missed:
  • Curry Chicken

Dougie's- This is now CLOSED. Leaving it up in the wiki since it is newly closed in case people are looking for it (9/29/23)

Knish Shop - Excellent subs and good sushi - Good place to pickup food for shabbos
Address: 508 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208
Phone:(410) 484-5850

The Club Deli & Grill - Newly opened (2023) fleishig meat/sandwich restaurant

Taam Tai - Reasonably prices Asian food. Great Lo Mein. Located between Mama Leah's and Goldberg's Bagels

Kosher Bite - fast food (American, Israeli, and Chinese)
Not to be missed:
  • Double Burger (better than KD's a"h)

Serengeti - Traditional excellent steakhouse (review Here, Here and Here) - definitely the nicest place in Baltimore.

Phone:(410) 413-6080
Not to be missed:
  • Lamb Burger on Ciabatta Bun
  • Short rib eggrolls

HELP EVERYBODY!!! Ok here's the story! I moved into the towers last year march '13. For some reason the electricity was never shut off by BGE from the previous owners and it stayed on ever since. So because I never set up an account with them I never received an electric bill. Well last week they finally caught up to me and they shut off my power. So I immediately set up an account with them and got my power turned back on (mind you this all happened the day before the snowstorm). As I expected they sent me a bill of almost $2000. Is there anyway I can fight this?? Maybe claiming that what right do you have to charge me for electricity I never asked for? It's your fault for not realizing this mistake! Was I obligated to call them up when I moved in to set up an account??? Please help me someone! I need advice!!!

I don't get it. If you would have set up an account right away, would you have been billed this amount? If yes, you didn't lose anything, and there's no ground for complaint. You used the electricity, you are responsible to pay.

Yes I would've been billed this amount (although paying two grand over one year is easier than paying it in one shot). But still, it's a company error and they should jVe turned it off when the previous owners stopped paying for service!

I don't lease. I own. And my papers say that I bought the place in feb-March '13

Did you try calling them and asking them either for a reduction or to spread the $2000 over 1/2 years of payments?

I wouldn't expect to get out of paying this. Just ask nicely for an installment plan. Good luck.

Umami is not a steakhouse. It's Chinese/sushi. Accents grill however is opening up a steakhouse right behind their current location. Where the nail salon is now....at least these are the rumors going around.

Talking about Blue Star?  I wouldn't call it a high-end steak house….Nothing like the old Pomegranate in Potomac

Isn't Dougies like a steak house?
I think that they serve both steaks and sushi.

Dougies is not like a steakhouse. It's like dougies! Poppers and wings! They're a building that has steak on the menu!

Yes, I was surprised that Dougie's was not mentioned above as a Baltimore option.
It's right in the center of town on Reisterstown Road.
A BBQ & Grill. Definitely a steakhouse:

If dougies is anything like the one in Teaneck I wouldn't call it an upscale steaks house.
So basically bmore don't have  any?
