help needed with cracking safe code
« on: December 27, 2016, 02:38:28 PM »
i was gifted with a safe (empty) but the one gifting it forgot the combination and its locked. its a gardall safe and ive spend several hours on it with stethoscope and just following random tips from wikihow... locksmith wants $600. anyone here know how to figure this one out or is willing to give it a try for $200?

A safe dealer would probably be cheaper than a locksmith

Hire a day laborer or high school kid to go through all possible combinations

I don't believe just a random kid will figure it out any more than I did

these are the steps for a gardall mechanical combination lock

Turn Left stopping when the first number comes to the mark the 4th time.
Turn Right stopping when the second number comes to the mark the 3rd time.
Turn Left stopping when the third number comes to the mark the 2nd time.
Turn Right past “0” until the dial comes to a complete stop.

I have lost the combination to my safe, can you provide it to me?

For security reasons we can only give combinations to locksmiths or Gardall safe dealers.  You will need to contact a local locksmith / Gardall dealer.  If you provide the locksmith with the serial number to your safe, they can obtain the factory set combination on your behalf.

Where is the serial number to my safe?

All serial numbers will be on the outside of the safe.  Most are on the front of the door and begin with S-.

If its a mechanical lock I doubt they did
its very hard to do and I think only locksmiths and dealers do it

Wow, the previous owner's acquaintances knew his safe combo? What's the point of a safe? Or was it just in case of a fire?
