iphone 4 or 4s? if its the 4s get it unlocked and get a sim card

Verizon phones don't work in Israel. At all.
They're WCDMA, and we use UMTS here.

You'll need an unlocked AT&T version.

Verizon iphones work on CDMA as well as GSM allowing them to work in Israel with a sim card AFAIK.

FYI, I tried putting in an AT&T microSIM card and it will not activate in the Verizon iPhone 4S. You need a valid international or international service card like my Truphone SIM to use the SIM card slot.
