Avis AWD #

So i need to rent a car and was browsing around trying to find coupon codes and AWD #'s (whatever that stands for) for avis.

I found one that seems to give me like half the rates i found elsewhere- D005297.

Upon looking further, it seems to belong to the "Amateur Sports Assistance Program." No one seems to be able to figure out how to even join this company/organization.

If i use it, whats the worst that can happen? they wont let me use it?
Does anyone know how things would play out if the car was in an accident and was being rented under that AWD #? Would things get messy?

Any help regarding this would be appreciated.

I'm also new to the world of Avis and AWD's if anyone would want to contribute their knowledge on this forum, that would we awesome. There are other forums which have hundred of pages on this topic, and it's hard to comb through all the stuff. An "executive summary" would be nice :)
