If it helps, last year I took a couple hundred of those down to Argentina for the Antarctica trip, all in checked baggage and not a single one broke. Just kept them it in the original packaging and then in a ziplock just in case.

Do you know from experience that this is OK in carry-on?  I'm pretty sure gels have to go in the 3-1-1 bag.

I've never used a 311 bag.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I had a problem last week with tuv taam's tuna and egg salad, agent said since it's a paste she has to throw it away.

It seems to depend on the whims of the particular TSA agent.
Had a flight from JFK with a stopover in DEN. In JFK they let my chummus by, no problem. After leaving the airport in Denver for a bit, the agent there took it away when going back in.

Just to let everyone know, I brought down 3 boxes of the pre filled jelled oil and no issues with TSA.. I was able to bring it on board, not even a peep from anyone.
