I fully understand the first date to married and we had many discussions on it. The planned/booked/cost is no different than a non-Jewish wedding. I guess what I am asking is there a religious aspect to it as not to postpone the wedding.

As a non-posek (decisor of Jewish law), I would guess that if a couple asked a Rabbi whether they should postpone the wedding indefinitely until they can have the full shebang, or get married now in front of 10 people, they would say do the latter.

Jewish law, plus the practical ramifications of keeping them apart for longer. When we say Jewish law, we don't mean there's literally a commandment that says don't push off a wedding obviously. It is essentially related to the commandment to procreate, IINM.

A Jewish wedding isn't a beautiful celebration of a couple's love, it's the celebration of the start of a brand new family and the building of a new home.

If the wedding is the former, you postpone it until you can properly celebrate, as the celebration itself is the point. If it's the latter, you make the wedding as soon as possible and figure out the celebration a different time.

A relative who got engaged last week is doing an immidiate-family-only wedding next week in a backyard.

You get married at a local government office. Then you have a religious wedding with the full blown celebration.

First thing is that the Govt office is totoally worthless. A possible option is to have a private ceremony and then a celebration later. That is actually well sourced in the talmud.

That would be for us getting married in church then renewing your vows later with the normal celebration you would have had.

The main part of a wedding is the marriage.  A basic crowd with the required ceremony lets the couple start their life together. If they want a large celebration later, go for it. There probably will be some that do.
