Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

I was originally planning a friday to monday weekend in Niagara Falls with two kids, I'm now thinking about driving up to Cleveland thursday late afternoon, stay somewhere there for shabbos (I'll finally get to see the city I've heard so much about), then drive to Niagara Falls sunday morning & stay there till monday night.

Now I know its a lot of driving, but I figure that its easier for me to put the kids in the car around their bedtime & stay in one place, rather than shlepp them out of a car into a plane back into a car rental.....  hopefully I'll get a quiet drive thereby saving myself 60k points + a one way car rental.

So thoughts please!

And if you want a really awesome treat, the Peanut Butter Cup parve Ice Cream from Shannon Road is out of this world.  You would be shocked it's parve.

That'll be plenty. Other option is avios to YYZ and spend Friday/shabbos in Toronto. Much less driving
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Someone should truck it in and make a fortune.
This stuff is the real deal.  I've yet to find someone not astounded by it.
Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Cup are just insane.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

+1. I think the owner is nuts for not moving to NYC and selling it locally there. Every shabbos table in NY would be eating it.

I think someone should contact the owner and get this stuff over to the east coast. It could be a great money maker!

Just some ideas off the top of my head
1) Belamere Suites an adults only romantic hotel about 2 hours west of cle
2) Presque Isle State Park a beautiful state park with miles of freshwater beaches about 1h45min east of cle
