Paint-Wooden Deck

I am having this done- Is there anything I should know about the type of paint they are using would like it to last as long as possible.

What type of wood?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Let the new wood sit a few years before paiting/staining. Then power wash, then paint/stain away. Lots of youtube videos put there.
 One in particular is "FixThisBuildThat"

a few years sounds excessive.
Feelings don't care about your facts
