-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City -
Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701.
Hermolis  also have a deli counter there.  The range includes schnitzels, spring rolls, kebabs, breaded lamb chops, chicken wings, fish products and salads. Traditional Shabbat dishes will be on sale on Thursdays and Fridays. Supervision is provided by the Kashrut Division London Beth Din
In the City Munch'n'Crunch have a stand in Hatton Garden with kosher meals, sandwiches, sushi and coffee. It is located at 32 Hatton Garden, on the lower-ground floor of Jewellery Emporium. There is also Mincha there at 1:30.

-Kosher food at non-kosher hotels, restaurants etc. can be ordered from the following kosher caterers in London. They provide double-wrapped meals to any location and could also match the menu of your location.
Hermolis (KED/LBD)
Royal Cuisine (KED/LBD)
1701/Adafina (LBD)

Zmanim - MyZmanim London

Minyanim - There are many shuls all over London, however there are a couple of places that have more constant Minyanim throughout the day.

Golders Green
General Golders Green Mincha/Maariv times
Hagers (Beth Yisochor Dov Beth Hamedrash)
R' Chuna's (Beth Shmuel Synagogue)

Stamford Hill
Satmar 26 (Clapton Common)
Pinters
Biala Shul (47 Moundfield Rd, London N16 6DT, UK)
Here is a list of addresses and zmanim for the above, and other places.

-Minyan in the West End could be found at the Marble Arch Synagogue. Shacharis during the week is followed by breakfast, and a kiddush on Shabbos.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

In London for Shabbos very soon
1) Does Marble Arch have a shabbos morning kiddush and is it hot food or enough for a lunch or do I need to look for shabbos takeout
2) Is there any shabbos takeout in the center of the city or do I need to go to Hendon or GG to get prepared food

Reubens is a deli within a 10 minute walk of Marble Arch so that might work.

This is what marble arch synagogue sent to me via email (even though I didn’t ask about shabbos meals lol):

In terms of food, we have Shabbat kiddush and Seudah Shlishit for visitors. In terms of other shabbat meals, there is Chabad of Bloomsbury:

https://www.chabadw1.org/

Reubens Restaurant is nearby (https://reubensrestaurant.com/) for food to pick up on Erev Shabbat and there is a restaurant that is open over shabbat (usually) for prepayment and is called Island Grill at the Royal Lancaster Hotel. (https://www.tonypagerestaurant.com/)

It is expensive, though.

You could also try Habiba’s Deli who can prepare food for delivery or pickup.

Chabad of Kensington has the best kiddush in Central London

If the Buckingham Palace website, Viator and Getyourguide are all sold out of tickets, is there any other way to get in? Do they sell tickets at the entrance?

Are there any places between Buckingham Pallace and the Thames with kosher sandwiches? Last time I was there I went to a few places on the Hermoles list and none had.

When is this credit from? I've been living in London for almost 6 years and have never heard of 1701. And I'm quite the foodie...

Google says it's permanently closed

From the website it actually looks like they've completely rebranded with a different (but similar) name and it doesn't seem like they have a physical location. They have a Summer '23 menu on their website, indicating they are still in business. They claim to be under supervision of London Beth Din but I couldn't find them on London Beth Din's list of certified establishments/caterers etc (kosher.org.uk)

All a bit strange. Would love to get some more info on this place.

Dan?

I have one day in London - with kids 9-17
Arriving 10am to Heathrow.. leaving next morning.
Is it worth going to Madame tussods - or better spend all day seeing the outdoor sites?
Thought the kids would enjoy- but a little reluctant to lock myself into a time slot on such a short stay and risk missing out on other things

With only 1 day in London, I wouldn't spend it at Madame Tussauds.

*EXCITING NEWS*

*NEW SUKKAH IN HEATHROW AIRPORT*

For the 1st time in its history, Heathrow Airport has a proper sukkah! See picture above.

The pop-up ones are still available as in previous years, but this is easier, safer, and more convenient.

It is located in the Central Terminal Area of Terminal 2/3.  Follow signs for the Chapel from the Central Bus Station. From T4 and T5 you need to catch free transfer to T2/T3 and then follow the signs.

If you use it/plan to use it or have any enquiries, please call/text Rabbi Vogel on +44 7970829758.

Any rubbish must be taken with you as there is no dustbin for security reasons, please make a kiddush hashem.
