I didnt really follow this as I dont have any TY cards or points but I am confused about the outcome. If there was never really such an option coming then why did the reps seem to say that there was? And if there was supposed to be an option then what happened?

me too, but this actually makes me realize how the DDF system (and actually most of forums systems) where post counts has a direct relationship with elite level is flawed. A newbie going through this forum for the first time and not knowing who to listen to has only one perspective to choose guidance from which is the DDF membership level, and I personally think that this level should not be based off of the post count but members' votes based on experiences with those individuals...

So much nonsense can be said with so much conviction... And this whole thread is such an example. It's sad

That doesn't sound like a sound (pun) business decision, if (overall) it makes business sense for them, then they should be doing it regardless of whether or not they have "the element of surprise".
