Nice, thinking of doing the same, where did you search for availability on this route, and is it easier the JFK-DOH?

I started look at each airline individually (EY, Qatar etc.) but then I got lazy so decided to call AA and see if I landed on a nice enough rep to help me out. Luckily enough I did, and she went through all the different options. Seems like it's harder to come by availability on routes originating from JFK though. Very few options left, and all of them were a minimum of two stopovers and all long layovers.

Nice, you can always add an a leg to PHL for free I think

to lazy but ill say a few things.I dont feel the need to say the positive as it is well known. The Maldives is amazing. It should be on everyone's bucket list. Its a 10/10. It was better then expected. Pictures dont do justice. They aren't many places in the world my wife can use the beach but the PH was one of them. Even though the PH was sold out when i was there it still felt as tho i was one of the only ppl on the resort it is very quiet and very private.

Here are the few negative things or just things to know possibly only applies to PH. I knew some in advance i am just pointing them out.

1) From when I landed at MLE airport until i was in my room took 7 hrs there and 5 hrs on the way back. I would not normally care i was just traveling for so many hours already. Was an experience in itself so i have that....
2) They have low electric not sure if other resorts are similar. Black outs a few times on the whole resort besides the villas them self. Only lasted a few min each time. But heating things up or cooking eggs on a burner became a pain as it would auto turn off every few min wait 30 sec and u would have to flip a switch. I assume because it used to much electric same with wife blow dryer etc...
3)You can not purchase anything once on the resort only from hotel directly. A 16oz coke costs $10.50 after tax. No way around it. Water if free in the room. I spent about $220 on coke while I was there. I cant drink water for 8 days straight. Sun tan lotion is $65 after tax! etc.... Was talking to the chef about my kosher food and arranging what i wanted he offered me and my wife a drink. They sent us a bill for it in the end...
4) Workers seemed to genuinely care. However there was something off about them all. I cant rly place it.
5)Resort overall is 8/10 leaving the Maldives aspect out of it.

business first or residence? do they fly first AUH-MLE? i found avil in first JFK-AUH but not sure about second leg

Still debating if I should keep my ressy with the PH or switch to the Conrad. I already have the points with Hyatt and im Diamond, but can also get the points for Conrad and book out of Diamond account.

Seems like upgrades to OWB are about the same price, so since cost is the same and I have the Hyatt points already, just makes sense to stick with them.
