Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Guess I wasn't clear, I know how to change the FFN to AA, my question is if it needs to be booked from the cardholders account or once the cardholder is on a reservation then all passengers on that reservation will get free luggage?

PS thx for ur time searching for the article.

Sounds like you can reapply right away, but you might have a hard time explaining that to recon.
Whatever you're comfortable with.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

If you mean between DDFer's it's either chase QP or pay pal
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Because you don't get too much info and if the other party is crooked there isn't much recourse

I know this has been discussed before (I think even perhaps on DDMS), but I can't find it. When buying an airline ticket with money, how long before my desired travel date is the best time to book? I know prices are constantly fluctuating, but I obviously can't wait until the last day!

IIRC it was 6-12 weeks prior.

Hi. First time on this forum. Hope I am following correct protocol...

I am planning a trip to Cusco, Peru (machu picchu) mid January. LAN airlines has pretty decent deals around then. I am flying from New York. I have many AMEX points. Can I transfer them to LAN and how would I do so? Also, I have miles on many other airlines. Does LAN accept points/miles from other airlines?

Or in addition: Is there a cheaper way - using cash or miles - to fly to Cusco not using LAN airlines?

Amex MR do not transfer to LAN. Only SPG (starwood points) transfer to LAN.

However, LAN is member of the OneWorld alliance. Additionally, LAN has other partners that you can book with. You can book using any of those partners and some may give a better value than another.

Here is a list of all the OneWorld airlines- http://www.oneworld.com/member-airlines/overview
So, for example, you can use AA miles to book with AA for travel on LAN airlines.

Additionally, LAN code shares with AeroMexico so you should be able to book travel on LAN with AeroMexico miles. Amex transfers into AeroMexico miles. Don't transfer until you are ready to book and availability is there.

See here for OneWorld discussion and help- http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=21835.0
