Also, if you visit harvard, which you should--Don't touch the statue's foot! The undergrads urinate on it.

Sam Adams also has a tour for 2 dollars, and you drink a couple beers, but not the cool ones.
Was just there in May. There was no charge and pretty much unlimited beer including a couple good ones though they rotate. Plus I not have all 4 of the free glasses they out :)

Do you have platinum status with them?

That was no my experience (last visited in November). I suppose our mileage varied. When I went, it was a 2 dollar suggested donation (I recalled a charge, but see now online it's suggested, I don't recall if I gave). They did a tour, then sat us down in a pub room on long tables, and we got a 7oz sample of 3 different beers from pitchers which they passed down the table. The beers were different ones, but from their regularly priced ones (contrast to harpoon where I was drinking the 4-pack beers). At the end, if you hung back they let you finish the pitchers. I suppose if less people are there, that might equal a lot more beer.

They mentioned the $2 suggested donation but I didn't see anyone actually give anything.
There were more pitchers than people knew what to do with.  You could get as sloshed as you wanted.

For good reason, they're right.
@ Dan: Have you ever been to The Liberty Hotel Boston? I didn't see it in any of your Boston trip reports. Unfortunately I don't have lifetime Fairmont status to stay at the Fairmont Copley.

I've only stayed at the Fairmont but Copley Plaza is a wonderful base for BOS.

Sounds like I should give them another try. I'll take my bro's there next time they visit.

Just finished our first day in Boston. Thanx to all (especially Dan's TR) for the tips and tricks.  Had to give up the Liberty ( >:( )  bec. we're traveling with someone else who was very low on Spg. So we settled on the Sheraton Wakefield - 4k Spg(20 min. drive )
First day got off to a late start (due to the fact that I had to work a couple of hrs. this morning) Left Bkln. around 12pm arrived in Boston at 4pm. We started out with the aquarium- 2 hour metered parking a block away versus $30 for 80 min at the harbor (nice aquarium-though I'm not much of an aquarium guy) then we walked the area and let the little one get soaked in a sprinkler/fountain park across from the aquarium. After that we took the 65 min.  Duck tour (great driver-allowed anyone who wanted to drive-pics to follow) We finished the day with a Ta'am China dinner- decent food, slow service and mediocre decor-decent prices.
Tomorrow, we hope to hit up the USS constitution , children's museum , brewery or science museum depending on time. Then it's of to our Shabbos hotel (Courtyard Milford, MA) .9 Mi.  walk from Chabad. Then Sunday it's off to Newport.
Hope to post a proper TR after the trip from a computer.

Ta'am China is much better at lunch.  Much cheaper and less crowded=better service.
For dinner I'd go with Rubin's.

Gonna be in Boston tomorrow for until Tuesday morning. Staying at the Liberty.
Anyone know the shuls nearby?

We plan to go to:
Red Sox (Sunday afternoon)
USS Constitution
Sam Adams Brewery
Duck Tours

And then one or two the following: Boston Tea Party ship, Bunker Hill, science museum, aquarium, mapparium, freedom trail, harvard museum of nat history. Problem is my wife isn't exactly a history or science buff, so I would like a suggestion of which of those would be the best for us.

Last q- I heard there's some good shopping areas in Boston, any suggestions?

TIA!
Visibly Jewish

I only stayed there due to extra company we had. To really enjoy, splurge on The Liberty. At 12k a night its really a deal.
