Authorized User with Bad Credit???

Im hoping someone can help me out.

In NYS if my wife (Spouse)is an authorized user on my account and my cc are maxed out it ruins her credit as well. (I took her off as an AU and now her credit is excellent).
My question is the opposite. If my credit is shot and my wifes is good, and she adds me on as an AU will my awful credit ruin hers?

 But then how come when she was an AU on my account my negative credit effected her?
(As per Citi rep, in NYS credit debt does go on a spouse credit report) I don't know if that only amount of debt or so forth?

not sure about the second part but when you are added as an AU that account will show up on your credit report so if you are added to an account that is not in good standing then that bad account will show up on your report.

Only the AU is affected by the Primary card holder, not the other way round.
