Five Star Hotels in NYC

Hi,

I'm going to be in NYC soon and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get a really good deal on a nice hotel room, just for one night. I would like to stay at one of the following hotels, if I can find a way to make it affordable:

Mandarin Oriental
The Plaza
St. Regis
The Peninsula
Four Seasons
The Pierre

Any help would be appreciated.

there are a lot more "5*" hotels and even if others are not officially 5* there are many other nicer hotels your list is basically the classics definitely not the nicest in the city

I would definitely consider other hotels, I know there are smaller hotels in NYC that are nicer than some of the one I listed. I do want to try all of the hotels I've listed b/c they are the classics for a reason. I stayed at the Plaza before and I loved it. The Mandarin Oriental is the next one I really want to try. What hotel do you think is the nicest in NYC?

there are so many it's impossible to say objectively which is the nicest, there is also the question, are you talking about the rooms or hotel as a whole, as far as the nicest room everyone know the $35K  ty warner suite in the FS

manhattan - Plaza Athenee
brooklyn - avenue plaza

who remmembers the Tudor hotel at the UN? Dan you told us about a special then for a couple of buck, it was still by far my best deal off Dans deals... my family joined me, i booked a few rooms then,,, oh those good old times.... btw the hotel was very nice, quiet, comfortable... those beds where amazing... Dan a good thing i can forgot... thanks
