Does staples sell Marriott gc? If so,  buy on an ink card

interesting idea but i don't know if they are the type to hand the manager hundreds of gift cards.

ahhhh! Now I get the whole discussion.  I can't see paying thousands for a bar mitzvah with 1 pile of $100 GCs.  But I guess it's possible, and 5 ppd may make the embarrassment worthwhile.

Lol. That certainly seems like a strange but awesome idea. :)

I wanna see what vendors / event producers will take GC's instead of cash.

If my brother is making a weekend bar mitzva at a marriott property, should he apply for marriott cc and get 5ppd or sp and get just 2ppd but more versatile?
Another idea would be to signup for the Ritz Carlton credit card, currently a 140k signup bonus plus a bunch of different perks/credits including $100 hotel credit on a 2 night stay and some upgrades.

Ritz and Marriott are basically the same rewards program and points can be used at either chain.

He'd get 5x Marriott/Ritz points per dollar for payment at Marriott.

Not nearly as valuable or flexible as the 5x UR on an Ink but much less legwork. Also it seems that Marriott GC can be difficult to find at Staples. I'd check my local Staples(s) to confirm before going that route.

I don't recall ever seeing Marriott gift cards in staples.

Might be alot of work,  but if you sign up for the Ritz and get 270k points between sign up and spend,  you can get a southwest cp. Frequent miler has a post about it

Does the cvv change when you get a new Sapphire card? I can't find my new card but I have my old one.
