...and the pain of finding a ride to the airport, shlepping a toddler and newborn through security and the airport, keeping them calm/quiet through the flight, arranging a ride from the airport... all to save an hour max!

All is true, except the security part. When i travel alone for business it is a pain. When traveling with baby and carriage, they have "pitty" on you. You can get away with taking liquid through security.

That's the only thing it's good for. Taking off my toddlers shoes, walking him through the metal detector and having his teddy bear confiscated because the flight attendant might think it's real, now that's a pain.
