I was looking at my Tu report on credit karma and noticed that chase is reporting one of my cards as an au. Is it important to try and switch that or that's not a big deal?

i know chase doesn't even look at au's so you should probably change if you are the primary

Did you get that card right when you opened the account or later?

So you created an account and added yourself as an AU now it shows up on your CR only as an AU?

Yup. But only on Tu.

That's good to know because I know someone who would rather not have one of his cards on his CR

It would be good to know if it works on all acounts or just a mistake on mine. If it does work like that its good if you wanna apply for a barklaycard in NJ where it will pull from Tu, shortly after after opening a new acount with chase.
