Forum Game: Where have you been that none of the rest of us have?

On May 21, 2013 i was remanded to the custody of the NYC DOC and taken to Otis Bantum Correctional Center on Rikers Island awaiting sentencing on 2 Felony and 2 misdemeanor charges for financial impropriety.  On June 24, 2013 I was sentenced to time served plus 5 years probation. I'd rather not get into details but my story is out there and now B'H over.

So has anyone else been there? Or am I the winner of this Forum game.

BTW, I don't mean to make light of your situation but since you seem to be laid back about it (perhaps because of internet anonymity) I want to ask a question. Why do all ex-cons say the exact dates of their arrest and sentencing when they tell their stories? You never hear anybody say, "On Dec 12, 1992 I was accepted early admissions to Stanford. On May 5, 1997, I graduated with a BA in Art History."

Isnt it called "doing time" Thats all we have to measure out "time". I didnt say that i entered law school on August 31, 1999 and passed the Bar on May 13, 2003 either. But jail time is "timed".

And I am cool about it and i dont really care about anonymity because if you know my real name...and it aint too hard to figure it out...my story can be Googled.

You're welcome. Counting days...and i still have the calendar with th "X" marks, is a process. It initially seemed so long, then it was June, then it was 10 days left. So you appreciate each day.
