weeks ago. First they just gave me platinum. I sent a second email that I never heard back one day before I got the platinum and then about a week later they answered that email and gave me diamond. Now I would like to try for the Hilton but don't want to read 30 pages to find out how. Any easy instructions on how?

Funny. I got HH Diamond easily with SPG Gold. Now I'm waiting to hear back from Hyatt after they told me SPG Gold wasn't good enough to match to Diamond.

Hyatt is simply all over the place with this offer. This is the latest I've got back from them.

I can understand your disappointment. The stict guidlines are in place to maintain the integrity of our top tier. Would you like me to confirm the tier match to our Platinum status today?"

Do they not have a spell checker on their browsers....sheesh. Integrity of their top tier...what a joke.

received the same email... and when I told them one of my friends was easily matched to Diamond w/ gold they responded that they surprised a few people with Diamond status and can only offer Platinum.

From the email I received: "At this time, the only way to achieve the Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond tier is to complete the normal earning criteria or to submit Starwood Preferred Guest information showing Platinum status, as well as 20 nights with SPG in the last 12 months."

Currently, we are able to match our Diamond status only with Starwood Preferred Guest’s Platinum status. On reviewing the attachment, I am glad to inform you that you are eligible to receive Platinum status on your Gold Passport account number, XXXXXXXXXX.

Platinum membership entitles you to a wide range of exclusive services and benefits including a 15% point bonus on your stays. In order to continue to receive exclusive Platinum membership benefits, simply complete five stays or 15 nights at any Hyatt hotel or resort worldwide during the course of the calendar year. Please advise if I can proceed further and upgrade your membership to Platinum status.

Any recommendations on what to say?  Politely ask for reconsideration of Diamond?  My account is still showing as Gold, presumably until I give permission.

Update    No dice.  I responded with a nice email asking for Diamond again.  Just got this.

As part of a limited time special offer, we are currently matching elite status with peer programs to Hyatt Gold Passport Platinum status. At this time, the only way to achieve the Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond tier is to complete the normal earning criteria or to submit Starwood Preferred Guest information showing Platinum status, as well as 20 nights with SPG in the last 12 months.
 
Hyatt Gold Passport does run promotions periodically that may include expedited earning for elite status. While we are not currently running a specific promotion at this time please check back with us in the future, as our promotions do change.
