Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

in other words I can let's say apply for Sr than for ink and than sp. let's say non are instant approval and I get first approved for sp and ink, can it hurt my chances of Getting the sr? Can anyone confirm that something like this happened to them?
Of course it can hurt ur chances. Sr shud be first then ink then sp. If u go over 5/24 they may not want to give u more credit lines. Also they have a policy of 2 cards in 30 days. IME I have gotten 3 in one day despite that, but it can definitely make it harder...
And if none are instant u have to call recon, so that wud be ur choice of order to call in

Just sharing my 5/24 story, for those who are way over 5/24, to know that you should never give up!
i'm way over 5/24, (i think 12-15 new accounts...) applied in a chase branch (with bank manager) last week Thursday, with pre approved offer.
got pending message at first.
I called the recon line every day since, but was still pending, not approved nor denied, just pending.
Called again today, and rep approved me B"h on the spot for $13,000.
G'luck

I don't get it. U spoke to a rep every day and what did they say? Or u called the automated line, and ur telling us what we know, that pre approved in branch helps bypass 5/24?

I can confirm that a marriott gift card, purchased directly from marriott's website does indeed qualify for the annual travel credit.

I was also 5/24 and I was approved, if you're pre-approved then it's no big deal

I'm sure its been mentioned but a chase rep told me tonight that if I close my AU card within the 90 days of the $75 fee hitting that the fee will be refunded. Has anyone experienced this yet. I want to get the card as an AU to help my wife meet the Minimum spend and capitalize on the perks but to pay 75 on top of the 450 isnt worth it.

Ok great, thanks.
Not sure how Chase is but Citi frowns upon this.

Does anyone know if the $450 AF fee could be waived, the same way the Ritz Carlton fee can be waived (lowering or transferring credit to a different card in order to make your AF over 25% of your credit limit)?
Try and let us know

Less is more!
You're right I guess, but it's not like this isn't talked about elsewhere, it's all over the Ritz card thread, although with the amount of attention this thread has gotten, it might not be the best idea to post it here. I concede

With any deal it usually isn't one thing that kills it but the cumulative effect.

From the wise mind of JTZ Yes you're right for the most part.

Applied for the card and the app is pending as Chase needs to review my account. What's the general consensus, wait or call recon?

Wait and see what the automated line says.
