Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

And back to smooth sailing away from the icebergs, where can I find a list of all possible ways to maximize the 300$ travel spending! For example if I wanted to buy a gas gift card? Or from eBay buying it will it register as a gas purchase?  Tia
Gas is not included in the $300 travel

She has to come in person and they ask for ID. You can't even check for pre-approval unless she's there.
Im gonna have to pay 2 hours for a babysitter :( (no way she's going alone...)

question: how long should i wait to apply in branch if shes preapproved?
and can i represent her (or say that i am her) or does she have to come in person?
Let me try answering that again.

YMMV.

I have heard multiple reports of people who were not able to check for pre-approvals by calling in but YMMV.
I was able to check for pre-approval by calling my branch.

I was personally asked for ID when I went in to check for pre-approval but YMMV.
depends on your banker :)
But for all practical purposes you can, cuz they just ask for you to type in "your" social

Opened a CPC account today. I've  had business checking for quite some time.

No pre-approvals. Waaaaaay over 5/24.

We'll see if approved for C$R.

I have CPC and I am way over 5/25.  Assuming I get declined, am I supposed to tell the person in recon that I am a CPC and I know they can get around it?  Anybody with experience that can let me know what I should tell them? TIA

Good chance they won't even bring up 5/24, and it'll be a regular recon call.
If they do, you can push to speak to a supervisor.

Call and report back

If you finished the spend more than a week before your statement closed, they should post when your regular points post, no need to pay full balance.

I'm assuming you meant to say re-applying with pre-approval? You can do that right away, no need to wait.

They will officially tell you  30 days from original application . YMMV. Freind of mine was auto declined  with 5/24 excuse . Got CPC a weeks later, applied again & got approved
