Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I mean re-charge. I'd think there would be language somewhere saying that if you dg for a refund and then ug within a certain amount of time they'll charge retroactively. So in January, he'd be charged $900.

I don't think they would charge twice but they may not refund the annual fee again or possibly strip you of the sign up bonus, either way its totally not worth it.

I'm not saying they would, I'm saying they could depending on the language (and it doesn't concern me enough to look). My previous comment was misleading. If it was my decision, though, that language would be there. As is, I'd tend to agree with mmgfarb as far as the outcome.

I was at 20/20, and was able to get approved for this (and a Ink same day) by transferring credit.
Lower Fico as well.

Did you try to Huca and lead with that request?

Don't give up.

(Although I tried a few months ago and hit a brick wall, even with a banker, maybe you just need a little time from your last app, notwithstanding how many were before that.)
HUCA worked. Approved.

Good news!

Did you try anything different?
Did you need to transfer $10k CL to open it?

Congrats. Did you call recon yourself or have your baker do it? Was it more than 30 days after your original app or last recon call? I'm in a very similar situation. Haven't been approved for the CSR despite CPC :(.

My banker called. That didn't work. I called. That worked. It was within 30 days of the original application.

so after calling recon approx 5 times and being denied even with CPC status(they saw that I was not an established CPC client) I tried my luck again with CPC banker and it went through even though well over 5/24.  However I did write a letter to one of the top executives before trying this sixth time so I am not sure if that helped because I never got a response but boy did conversation go a lot smoother.

Will making a down payment on a leased car count towards the $300 travel credit?

Yay! Worked my way down to somewhere between 4/24 & 5/24 with CPC. Denied in 2BM for Reserve (and Marriott).
Called recon to push through Reserve but was denied Marriott. Called again and got Marriott too!
