Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Basically Chase says there is no December 2016 statement.

Here's the info I have:
Payment due: 1/11/16 (according to Chase)
First statement close date: 1/14/16 (according to Chase)
December statement close date: 12/14/16 (not confirmed by Chase)

According to Dan's assertion that first statement is 25 days before payment due date, there should be a December statement, but Chase is not confirming it. Without Chase confirming it, how are we sure that we can still get the 2016 credit? Since the 2016 travel credit is based off of the December 2016 statement.. of which Chase is basically saying does not exist for our situation.

I had her send another SM asking specifically if purchases between 12/6/16 and 12/14/16 will count as the 2016 travel credit or 2017. I would personally call but it's my girlfriend's card and she's kind of nervous over the phone.
Correct. Chase will tell u that there isn't enough time for a Dec statement, but facts are the statement does close

I failed on the 2016 $300  :'(
My due date is on the 2nd of the month and my statement date is 5th of the month.  I purchased "Marriot Gift Cards" worth $300 on Friday the 1st and it was pending till today.. as a result my statement printed yesterday the 5th with the Marriott travel charge nowhere to be found on the statement  :'(

I called in 3 times today and spoke to 3 different reps and their supervisors but they won't budge. Obviously they can't retroactively move the December/Jan due date and statement date and they won't consider a courtesy $300 statement credit or any courtesy UR points. They all say; the terms are clear, travel charge has to "post" before statement closes and the fact that it's pending so long is not their responsibility.

Funny thing is, my wife got approved for the card 2 days before me and she got a due date of the 12th (her's was an instant approval while line was via recon)

Moral of the story.. hurry up on your travel spending and if you see it pending and your December statement didn't close yet. Immediately call in to change your due date to a later date

Isn't it possible the system will consider there are not enough days from opening to when statement is suppose to close, and therefore it will skip to January closing?

i would advise to HUCA and be assertive / demanding, but polite. emphasize your CPC status, maybe request to speak to supervisor (assuming you haven't done all of these by now).

sometimes its just getting the right person...

Tried for myself 4 times so far, no go. tried today for my wife first HUCA after moving credit lines got approved

my wife is at 19/24 (not counting AU's) compared to me at 20/24.. not sure why for me they wouldn't budge

They don't need to give you 25 days from account opening to your first statement close.

My due date is 01/18, just approved today, does that mean statement will close 12/15?

Applied for family member through pre-approved online for CSP and got approved instantly without CPC and 13/24

What are the odds of being approved for the CSR as well if not preapproved online?

That
They don't need to give you 25 days from account opening to your first statement close.
With countless DP's to prove it

I called to change my statement closing date and they changed it to December 28 but my payment due date didn't change and it's still February 1. Does that make sense?

That's weird. Maybe it'll be enough to show them through SM, that u spent it before ur DEC closed

Wife was accepted today for yesterday's CSR application. Due date is Feb 3, anyone have success having statement close moved to December 28th via SM or only calling?

ETA: switched closing to December 28th via SM
