There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

How do I know if this is for 16 or 17?

This shows what you've received against the $300 Annual Travel Credit. Each time you get a statement credit for your eligible travel purchases, you'll see the number grow. See details below.

FYI: If you apply for two many cards with the same email, phone and address you will have to call to verify the app.

You received 600 in credits in Nov?
The charge was in Nov, the credit actually posted Dec 2 (I believe)

Your statement close should be Jan 6th.

The only thing you can do is PUTPAC. Push up your statement date to end of Dec. I guarantee with 100% certainty that if you don't call, you wont have a chance at a Dec close.

If your statement period is less than X number of days then it's skipped.

I applied and was approved on 11/23 with a due date of 1/1. The December statement never closed, and I believe I won't be getting the credit for 2016.

I have called up when I first applied to change the due date to the 2st, although the rep said she would change it, I don't see this change reflected on the website (as others have reported). I think it will kick in after the first statement closes, which seems like it will be Jan 3. So I will have had a first statement period of 40 days without any credit for 2016 :(

Just called reconsideration again, still pending and no reason available... I'm afraid they're trying to avoid new applicants trying to get the triple dip.

Instant approval today so I guess that might not be the case.

The rep told me that my statement closes Dec 28 with due date Jan 25. Online it hasn't shown the change. She said it won't until the next cycle. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
