Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

http://www.foxbusiness.com/features/2016/12/09/chases-hot-new-credit-card-could-cost-them-up-to-300-million.html

Would think that it cost then much more. If you count the $300 travel credit, global entry, lounge access Gold status etc.
Its about how much they have to report as a loss...points cost them as they value it a certain price. Future credits don't come out of today's profits

I had my statement closed on closed on Dec 3 and didn't take advantage of $300 travel credit. Changed the statement date to Dec 28, Made charges on Dec 20 and received the credit. It looks like they still applied the credit towards 2017 instead of 2016.

It looks? Get a definite answer by looking on your account. If it indeed counted towards 2017 PUTPAC

I looked into UR account and it shows $300 as being used. I need to call them and see what they say.

Wife and I are both at exactly 5/24. One of my 5 is an AU on an Amex card I've never used. Two of her 5 are AU's on my Chase cards.

For Chase cards, I'm currently the primary on CSP and Freedom, and she has a SW Chase card. If I apply, I'll certainly get denied or pending at best, and will have to call recon. If she applies, the same will likely happen. However neither of us will probably get a decision until after the 100k bonus promo is over, and then the other won't be able to get it if the app is ultimately denied.

Question is: with those above factors in mind, does she stand a better chance of ultimately getting approved than I (taking into account she has fewer Chase cards than I, and more of her 5/24 are AU's,) or is it just a crap shoot since we're both at 5/24?

apply for both ASAP! Bonus goes by when you apply not by when you are approved

Only issue there is we really don't want 2 cards (and 2 AF's.) I'm concerned about both of us applying and then both getting approved. Can you turn down an approval? :)

I can't read through 222 pages here, so please help me out. Last year I applied for this card and was refused because of too many requests or something in the year. Now it's January and I'm thinking of applying again. The 100,000 bonus ends 1/11/17. I understand I get $300 travel dollars back during the year. Is it still worth the other 150? (450 fee for card)? Should I try for it again?

Definitely worth it. Won't hurt to try again, make sure to recon if you get declined.

100k points is worth 150. You'll also get the 2018 credit
