Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Hmm what if it was a card (freedom etc) converted recently (or that I will convert soon)? Does it matter if the freedom was originally opened prior to a certain cutoff date?
I can't answer that with certainty, but my guess would be, that it is determined by the product, not the account. So when it became/becomes a SR will be the deciding factor.

OK - and what is the new rule? For new CSR - it is calendar based (1/1 reset) instead of Dec statement reset?

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. As far as I know, it's never 1/1. For grandfathered members, it resets on your January statement, and for newer members, it resets on the first statement of each card anniversary. So if you sign up today, it will reset at the close of your 2/20 statement.

I asked about this last week- but now I clarified my dates.
I opened my CSR end of last april. My first statement closed on like may 20th.
My UR page says that the 300$ travel credit will restart when my statement closes in 05/2019.
What is the earliest possible date I can get my travel credit restarted if I move up my statement closing dates?

I’m sorry to be off point from this post. I currently have the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card which i have for about 4-5 years now along with a Chase ink business and Chase freedom unlimited. Should I close my preferred card and then apply for a reserve card or should I downgrade my preferred to a Chase freedom card and then apply for a new reserve card?
Please help!

Thanks in advance!

When booking a flight with UR(SR for 1.5 CPP) I see the same price flights as all the other sites are selling for, like a flight selling for $250 on Expedia will be selling on priceline for the same but only difference is I can upgrade for $34 which will get me an added cargo bag, while with Expedias booking I would have to pay a lot more for an added bag, anyway to have the price matched or another way to have the search work for another site?
Or what ever I see is what they're is to book, and if not book with cash and or transfer to airline partner to book with airlines miles.

Until when can I downgrade to freedom to get full AF back?
The $300 TC only starts after the first months closing date on the second year. If I wait till after the first closing date, spend the 300, then downgrade, will I get full AF back? Any DPs of it getting clawed back by doing this?

So you downgraded CSR to freedom, then upgraded back to CSR and then tried to downgrade again?
