Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I called somewhat recently, rep checked for retention offers and said she had nothing to offer.
Ok, thanks.

I downgraded my reserve to get the recent sapphire bonus. Just wondering, should I upgrade my now downgraded freedom back to the reserve?

I used the doordash credit, bc it was available, not that i ever even ordered from them. $300 travel went to bills I spent anyway.
I'm not planning to travel anytime soon.
The only feature I really used was - pay yourself back, which is a little higher % than the sapphire I have now.
Is it worth the $550 annual fee -$300 travel credit, so I guess $250 to upgrade back to the reserve? Unless I'm missing out some details..

Well the 100,000 points you earned with the preferred are worth $1250 in pyb on the preferred and $1500 with the reserve so can’t really lose anything only gain

That would be beneficial for me for the first year I guess. Not sure about thereafter though.
Is there any other reason to have the reserve in my portfolio?

So coming back to the reserve after downgrading for the preferred, they are giving me the $300 again but not the $60 doordash.

Doc has the report that Sapphire reserve holders are getting presents from Chase. Did anyone get anything?

Was just hit with my AF. Tried to get a retention bonus. Was told nothing available. Any tricks to getting something I'd prefer not to cancel the card.

Is there any DP about MDD on the same day by doing one app in branch and the other afterwards online. Some chatter that the in branch 100k SUB for the preferred is over on saturday and i'd love to pick up both bonuses before then.

Phone rep said annual fee bills Nov. 1 but $300 travel credit renews Oct. 11.
If yes, someone could theoretically earn a 2nd $300 travel credit in mid-late October and cancel before November, essentially earning $600 in travel credit with only one annual fee.
Does this make sense?

Not sure about your specific case, but double dipping is definitely possible. Triple dipping was on the table at one point as well.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Yep, you can lose a lot!!
pyb is quite pathetic. Didn't realize that the categories changed and they ditched groceries (which is most of my monthly spendings). Hardly have anything to use pyb.
Just did pyb for the month and only redeemed approx. 11,000 points, $170 >:(

Off the top of my head, I'd guess you can do PYB easier than ever, if not a bit riskier.
