Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Is there any issue to use “pay yourself back” on the annual fee and then call to downgrade?
Not that I can think of. I believe I did this.
Hmmm...any repercussions? How does it work?
What kind of repercussions? People do this all the time.

Got approved last week and waiting for card to arrive. Is there any way that I can use it before receiving actual card?

From the Chase app you can add it to your mobile digital wallet. Won't have the card number though

In general when signing up you can call and ask to have it shipped express.

Just got approved for preferred. How long have to wait till ask to upgrade to reserve?
1 year
I’ve seen multiple reports of this being a HUCA and IIRC I managed to get my CSP upgraded within a month of getting the bonus. Can anyone confirm either way?

Upgrading and downgrading has become more difficult since then
More DPs needed.

I thought upgrading before you hold the card for a year is against the Card Act.

"(a) Limitation on Increases Within First Year – Except in the case of an increase described in paragraph (1), (2), (3), or (4) of section 171(b), no increase in any annual percentage rate, fee, or finance charge on any credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan shall be effective before the end of the 1-year period beginning on the date on which the account is opened.

(1) end of previously disclosed promotional APR
(2) variable APR going up with the underlying index
(3) end of a workout or temporary hardship arrangement
(4) late on minimum payment for more than 60 days"

Unclear if this includes consumer requested upgrades. But yes, most reps will say that.

Ah I see. I just assumed it did include customer-based requests to upgrade given it is not highlighted as an exception of the Act.

It may, it's unclear. It has been systemically allowed in the past and been up to the rep.
Like I said, we need more DPs.

If I have a CSP, how long will it take to upgrade to get 1.5x for UR? Can I downgrade before the flight and maintain the 1.5 value?
Jury Duty: Nothing to do there but chill and write a TR. Kinda like the beach but missing the view and ocean breeze.

I'm planning to downgrade my Reserve card.  Can I use the newly renewed travel credit before I cancel, or will it be clawed back?

Has anyone heard if Chase will extend the Airbnb reimbursement past 6/30/22?
