Anyone know if under the terms and conditions of a new application where it states you can not have a similar product within the last 12 months....Say for a business application the Gold or platinum card...

So in short I had a Platinum card closed it and applied for the Gold card same month. I thought the terms where that you can not have received the bonus within 12 months which that passed but they denied my bonus on the Biz Gold card saying I had the Platinum card only a month before and was not eligible for the bonus?

Is this correct and anyway to still receive bonus? Was really upset!

Im looking for a card that has a good signup bonus. I spend most of my money on groceries and gas. I dont mind a fee as long as first year is free. Any suggetions?

What do you currently have? I think the Amex Blue Preferred gives 6% on groceries and 3% on gas (someone please CMIIW- don't know if that's current)

I would like to apply for a gold rewards or platnium amex charge card. 1 Buiz and 1 Personal. Please post a linke for the best bonuses. Also how do I make sure I don't have to pay for the AF on platnium with out closing the card?

For groceries it's definitely a great card (though the 6% is only upto $6500),

For gas you might be better off with the Amex PRG which gives you 2MR per dollar on gas, or one of the inks which gives you 5% on office stores where you can get gas cards,
But even if you go with the BCP it's not bad with the 3% cash back (also $6500 limit).

Can someone help out a fellow DDF'er. I am applying for a 3BM for chase and am going to go for a SP, United MP, and needed to know whether to go for the southwest or BA. I dont do that much flying in the states but i figure that even if i do cant i use the avios to fly on AA? also which currency is more valuable?

You can use the BA avios to book AA flights (with great short haul rates).
