I'll agree that he is a little ridiculous, anyone willing to take their kids out of a Jewish school doesn't even belong in the conversation about tuition. On the other hand, he does raise some very good points. How many people out there can afford the full tuition that they're forced to pay? I personally would never belong to a shul where the Rav makes $350k a year but the fact that shuls like that are out there is kind of disgusting (to be fair, I'm not sure how many of those shuls actually exist.) As the son of a doctor, a profession which everyone assumes always does "well", I can tell you that there were times when he was out of a job and I can imagine how he had to slink off to the school to ask for a break in tuition which probably wasn't given that easily. B"H he has his own practice now and is doing fine but my parents are just starting to save for retirement now with 4 kids still to marry off. How most frum people can ever afford to retire is honestly beyond me.
My father lost his job, the local yeshiva sent us home midday, took us out of class, myself, siblings and other kids who were behind on tuition, the shame of this never went away, I was 10, my brother was 6 and is still to this day very hurt by it, we stayed home for some time and went to other schools later.
So yeah I do have a grudge maybe but I also have valid issues
