Tethering Verizon 4G LTE on laptop/home computer?

If I get a Verizon phone with the unlimited data plan (before Thursday), can I use the phone to tether (I think that's the correct word) other wifi devices in my home --- like my laptop, desktop, blu-ray player? 

Is this an extra charge or limited?

Officially Verizon will  charge 30 for tethering. However if you jailbreak it it can be done for free.

OT, anyone have issues tethering Sprint (centro) at night? I've noticed that my data speed in general slow to a crawl at night, and apparently that is the issue.
