UPDATED: The Hilton Aspire credit card from American Express now comes with two semi-annual $200 credits, one each half a calendar year, which can be used towards room rates, taxes, spas, meals, and other incidentals at any of the 200+ hotels listed here.

There are three ways to purchase someone's credit for use towards your room rate:

1)Use their card to book a prepaid rate online

2) Have them make you an AU and then use that card to pay for your room at check-in

Obviously, option 1 is more desirable than 2, or

3) Have the buyer send you a personalized link that pays to the resort.

Which is obviously the best.

Yes, you must book the room first.
These are for resort properties only. The WA Jerusalem is not a resort property.

Recently joined DD, apologies for what is likely an extremely newb question to the long timers here. After you send a prepayment link how do you know the person from whom you purchased the credit actually makes the $200 payment? Honor system, or is there a way to confirm the transaction was made?

Two ways to verify to $200 credit:

1. The pre-payment link receipt can be copied and sent to you after the $200 payment is made by the person from whom you purchased the credit.
2. The resort can send you a proforma invoice showing the credit.

@Pittsburgher CB i have Conrad RANGALI stay and believe links came from the Bank of Maldives and purchase posted as the hotel and credit has been posted for the surpass. Historically, seaplane transfer did not get credit but seems like things have since changed. I would assume same for the Waldorf if links are generated in the same manner.

So just to confirm, the hotel sent you a link that came from Bank of Maldives, but it shows as Hilton on your statement, which you then received your credit, correct?

Correct. The transaction posted as “New Merchant” initially but when clicking on additional detail it said will post as Conrad Rangali on next statement. Transaction updated to hotel name shortly after and credit posted about 8 days after transaction date.
