From experience only, please.
For example on a $210 digital camera, where Amex asks you to get a repair estimate, and the repair estimate comes back at $180. How does Amex go about the next step?
1-Do they give you the full $210 credit since its only $30 more than the repair?
2- Or do they insist on you repairing it, and then you need to send the $180 receipt to show that you actually paid for the repair, and then they reimburse that?
3-Or do they give you the $180 right away as a credit, and then you have the option to go and repair the camera, or to take the money and put it towards a new camera or whatever else?
