Any update on LHR operational issues? It says operational issues should get to airport earlier than expected. We’re flying out of lhr on Virgin Atlantic business so is there anything to worry about?

When you transfer Capital One to Virgin, you are transferring to Virgin Red, not Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Practically, this makes no difference as the accounts are connected, but for transfers, you need to enter your Virgin Red ID, which is a series of four letter words as opposed to your Flying Club number.

I booked a flight JFK-LHR-TLV premium and on the LHR-TLV leg all the seats are taken except for the "preferred" seats which are the first 2 rows of premium and the only way to select a seat is to pay 68 bucks... anyone ever had the same experience? I just don't wanna end up in a middle seat

Yes I noticed the same, certainly is a surprise, I was able to book an aisle in back section though, I think your only options are to watch the seats carefully to hope something opens or pay.

Their premium seat on the 787 and their a330-300 are 21 inches wide which is very wide and generous for premium economy but their a350 and their a330-900neo have 18.5 inches wide which is similar to delta ect. I flew in the 787 and it was a very nice seat, never flew the a350 yet but I have flown deltas and it’s nothing special

From what ive heard the seat itself is comfortable but the seats are squished quite tight together making for hard to maneuver rows. I think they may recline and the footrest comes higher than delta.

Agreed, I’m currently on their a350 premium and I feel like it’s better then deltas

Very random cities, though if it works for you it can stack nicely with the 30% transfer bonus from Chase.

Virgin Atlantic is launching Bengaluru

Virgin Atlantic is launching flights to Bengaluru (Bangalore). As India’s IT capital, this is a natural addition to Virgin Atlantic’s existing routes to Delhi and Mumbai. Since 2019, Virgin’s Indian network has grown by 250%, with Bengaluru becoming the fourth daily service.

Here are the details:

Flights will launch on 31st March 2024, with a daily service all year round
Seats, for cash and Virgin Points, will be bookable from 14th June – do NOT try to book today
The route will use a Boeing 787-9, which again means you are getting the old-style Upper Class seat, unfortunately.
Virgin Atlantic has a codeshare with IndiGo which you can use to connect onto 34 domestic destinations on the same ticket, whilst earning additional Virgin Points and tier points.

Here are the flight timings:

VS316 departs Heathrow at 11:45am and arrives in Bengaluru at 2:15am the following day
VS317 departs Bengaluru at 4:05am and arrives in London at 10:15am the same day.

I want to see what Virgin has available in award flights, but it's not letting me see because I don't have any points in my account.
Is there a way around this?
