+1. You are correct. (unless you have late payments, of course)
Where does it show on ones credit report?

Correct. Though that doesn't necessarily mean that an account was opened (same pull will be there even if you're declined).

My understanding (CMIIW): We don't need to pay off the IB by the closing date (like we do for the credit cards) because it is a charge card.

If we are applying for new CCs by Chase is it still ok to keep the balance until the due date or better to apply with a low balance?

(Great minds think alike!   :) ) ^^ and ^

Is it true that the balance on a charge does not show up the credit report?

If it doesn't show up, that means the CSR can see the balance internally, therefore the closing date shouldn't make a difference.  I can pay it down after closing (but before application and due date) since it is a charge card.  Please correct my logic.

It does not show up on your CR. You can apply while you have a balance they may however use the balance against you as I had happen in the past.

My 1st Ink Bold has gone past the anniversary date.  The AF hasn't posted yet.  Is it better to cancel  before they post the fee or wait until after?  Also, Do you have to transfer the points to another account before cancelling? All opinions welcome, humble or otherwise.

About the fee there is no a difference when you close it. You will need to transfer out your points before closing

Transfer the points before closing. Regarding the fee it doesn't matter.

Anybody else get this lately? haha They're crediting me 1% of 2 X $9,313.00 purchases which I never made.  Maybe they got confused from all of the Staples purchases and just bunched them all up???  Weird thing is I've already received the respective discounts for each purchase.
