You know what's stupid? I called to activate my Sapphire Preferred card and had to wait 4 minutes on hold for a live operator. This is presumably because Chase wants to be able to say you can speak to a live operator when you call? But for the Marriott card, I got a machine that instantly recognized my phone number and activated the card right away - the call lasted 30 seconds. Live operators are nice when you need a brain on the other end of the line.... but this system doesnt make the Sapphire Preferred seem any more fancy; instead it annoyed me that I had to wait just to activate the card.

anyone converted your IB card to any other no fee Ink card? I have both IB & the plus. AF is due on the IB but not paying it cos I already recently got the IP.

UPDATE:
I tried twice both with regular agent and supervisirs and told me NO, cancel or apply for inkcash or classic.

So I got a few simple questions which I am ashamed I do not know but here goes:

1. Can I have the Freedom Visa and Freedom MC open at the same time or only one open at once (Same question but with Sapphire Preferred MC and Visa)?

2. How long after a 3BM should I wait to do another app spree with the same bank or how long with a different bank?

3. How long after receiving a card should I keep it open for if I do not need it and eventually want to transfer over the credit, basically canceling it?

5. When closing a card with Chase Ultimate Rewards I just transfer them to another ultimate reward credit card account, or do I need to transfer them out of Chase.

2. Best results after waiting 6 months if you applied for many cards from multiple banks. Otherwise, sooner is ok.

i just got a approved for united card from chase using my address in ohio .and assume they pulled from transunion . what do you think if i would use a diff address in new jersey will thy pull from experion . (like people are reporting in ddf) ?

So just transferring them too another credit card account is good?

I just gotta make double sure because I wont want to lose them if I change my Sapphire Preferred MC to a Visa.

I just signed up for a Banana Republic credit card because they were having a promotion for 30 percent off plus another 15 percent off if I opened the card (On top of the already insanely cheap price for a Monogram Suit which usually is not included in sales or promotions). Does anyone know what will happen if I cancel the card? I only did it to purchase this suit. I have no use for the card nor do I want it. Will it effect my credit score? How does this work? Thank you for the help
