Credit Score
« on: July 03, 2010, 11:51:18 PM »
My Credit Card company had to close my card because they said that a vendor's data was compromised and they had to issue me another card. As a result of this i couldnt pay my bill online and by the time i realized it, i had paid a day late. They waived the late fee and interest because they knew it was their fault etc.
The only problem is that it now shows on my credit report.
Is there anyhow anyway that i can get it taken off and if so how?
Thanks.

Do i dispute through the credit card company or through credit score (if thats possible). Does the cc company have the power to reverse it on my credit score?

They probably do buy probably wont. You have to dispute it with the credit bureaus. There are 3: Experian, TransUnion, Equifax. You can contact then directly here. or go to annualcreditreport.com and request each of the three reports and follow the instructions to dispute.

Note: It can sometimes take up to 2 months for it to show up on those reports (especially TransUnion, in my personal experience)
