Changing default Gallery app

Anyone have any idea of how to change the default gallery app? Using an HTC 10 and it seems to have it stuck to Googles own Photo app.  :-\

What happens when you download a new one (I recommend Piktures) and try to go to your latest picture directly from the camera?

Try clearing all defaults in the apps settings?

(Gotta start with the basics...)

Tried all that. Nothing you'd think is working. Even when I open Photos it says there is no defaults saved. so in theory nothing should be defaulting to it...  but it is.

Disable the app worked! Can't believe I didn't think of that.
