Private fitness trainer
« on: October 03, 2013, 08:48:51 PM »
I live in Brooklyn and my wife wants to buy me a weeks worth of personal training sessions

I don't want to go to a gym, I heard some people have gyms in there houses and you can hire a personal trainer, or some personal trainers have gyms in their houses and will train you there.

Anyone know of where I can find such a setup?

I know this does not answer your question, but why not just buy a treadmill, bike, or an eliptical?

Hmmmm.....what a novel idea. Don't share it, you may shut down a whole line of business

I understand.  Although I am not even close to being a fitness expert, it seems to me that unless someone needs specific help (almost like rehab), or someone is a professional athlete, what can a personal trainer do (other than be an oreiv), that one can not do themeslves?

-1 Sometimes people need to learn certain exercising for certain areas and goals. And sometimes people just need motivation and someone to push them harder than they would themselves.

A physical therapist once told me that for general exercise, it is not necessary.  Obviously a boxer needs to work certain parts of their body, and a cyclist a different part, etc.  But for a non-athlete who just wants to lose weight, or 'get in shape', a treadmill, stationary bike, etc is just as good as a workout with all of the machines.  I am not speaking with any first-hand knowledge, just repeating what a professional told me.

It's certainly helps many people lose weight and get into shape.
