when can i cancel card after miles post

got my aa card card in july 2010 and miles just posted mid november.
when could i cancel card without worrying about them takin miles back
if thats even a worry.

i want to get ready to churn if another good deal comes along

it was once said somewhere on the forums that even when they threat you that they'll take em away, they still don't do it (or can't do it...).

I called Chase today with a question about my miles posting to CO and they told me they have no way of taking back miles once they issue them.

Well if you return something they definitely can and do take miles back.

If for ex. you buy something on your amex and return it, Amex can and will take back the points. However if you earn a cc or bank account promo and a bankthat has an agreement with a FF program puts miles into your FF account (Chase into CO or Citi into AA) the bank doesnt have the ability to remove those points.

Not true.  CO, UA, and US points can all definitely be pulled back by the bank in case of return.

I had a maaseh where I moved points from a sapphire card to CO and by their mistake they posted them twice (extra 40k!) a few weeks later they were deducted.
