« on: May 25, 2011, 03:20:17 PM »
Can one book an award ticket on a partner airline, when the airline has a flight for that route?
Example: NYC-YYZ on air canada using Co onepass miles ( there is a continental Ewr-yyz flight )

When booking an award ticket do I get any benefits from my CC at all or not because it's not considered as a whole ticket purchased on the card?

Does it matter which card I put the taxes on ?

Right, but in terms of card benefits does it make any difference?

If you are enrolled with baggage or flight delay protection with amex you want to make sure that the taxes are billed to the that card.

The way it works (CMIIAW) if the award ticket is booked from an account that gets free bags, etc., then the pax gets the same benefits.

If account doesn't get bennies and you have, just show the GA your card and it should work.

The way it works (CMIIAW) if the award ticket is booked from an elite/CC holders account, then the pax gets the same benefits.

If not and only the pax has elite/CC, just show the GA your card and it should work.

I guess I should have been clearer. I meant CC benefits such as luggage protection.

Meanwhile I think I got my answer.

You've gotten covered for lost luggage on an award ticket where taxes were paid on CC?

Which CC was it?

Darn. I put the ticket on my Sapphire Preffered. Not sure they would cover anything if it's just taxes. Amex is always better about these things.
