put the voucher in the res, but rent using the cc, then after leave the charge in the voucher

What I do is I tell them to leave a dollar a day base charge so insurance will cover.

Doesn't the WHOLE price of the car need to be paid for on the CC for it to be covered? Is this considered paying the whole thing to the CC companies?

yes, in ordered for your CC to cover it you have to pay the base rate with the CC so if s/t happens CV"SH than make sure that at the end of the rental you pay the full price w/ the CC and dont use the voucher
