One Week Israel Trip Help
« on: October 11, 2011, 06:45:57 PM »
My wife and I are gong to Israel for one week at the end of November. I have never been while she has spent a year there. I can use any helpful information regarding:

Hotels (preferably Jerusalem.....walking distance to Kotel.....Starwood?)

Eating (Shabbos arrangements, and restaurant preferences)

What is a must do in one week for first timer.

Thanks DANS PPL!

Wow- I always get so excited for people heading to Israel for their first time.  With only a short trip I'd stick to the Jerusalem/kotel/city touring and maybe another day trip to another city if you could pull it off.   Hope you enjoy your trip!  Let us know how it goes and what your impressions are!

I got my credit card bill for the flight to E'Y from Expedia NZ, does it make sense that the 810 NZ $ was exchanged for $652 (besides the $23 for Forex). I thought everyone said that it was $630

Currencies are always fluctuating, it just depends on when they charged you.  Now it's $666 for example.

Actually checking the rates, if they would have done the exchange on the day i booked it, it would have been $633, but thay waited 4 days till 10/15 when the rate costed $650, is that normal that they should book the flight and not bill till later on, and is there anything I can do.

Look at the chart I linked.  It went from .775 to .8 from just the 11th to the 12th.
810x.775=$627.75
810x.8=$648.

It all goes by the rate when they charged you.
