I just spoke with the person from Pincus Mandel in Brooklyn. He said most are sent from JFK, a small number (becoming smaller due to cost and timing) are from United in EWR, and ElAL in EWR never takes meisim.
any reports about delta and american from jfk?

Flying United EWR-TLV can be a big problem
« Reply #22 on: December 29, 2022, 07:23:49 PM »
Any Kohanim that fly Ewr-Tlv need to read this. Many flights coming from Ewr are carrying Maysim and as far as I have researched I have not found any heter for kohanim to fly with a mais. El-Al uses a special cardboard box that holds the coffin and halachicaly stops the Tumah from spreading to the passengers. This issue has been brought up several times to United corporate and apparently its not important enough to them for religious jews.  Many people dont know this and it is a serious issue. Please spread the word to any kohanim you know and hopefully United will agree to use the boxes or stop carrying maysim altogether.

what comes out from interview is

american from jfk has meisim
elal from jfk has, however has a poseach tefach, without actual supervision and they often dont have it.
united probably over 50 percent have meisim.
delta rarely ever take meisim, so probably best option for those who avoid elal
elal from newark do not take meisim so best option overall

also mentions that only nonstop flights are a issue.
the question is, arent  there meisim coming from uk, france, switzerland brussels etc making the connecting flight also problematic ?

dont mean to rub salt in ur wounds, but for quite awhile already the only flights that are guaranteed (whatever that means when coming from a company as elal) not to have meisim are elal from newark

Why does a stop help? Meisim don't fly from EU to TLV?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

A lot less frequent, that's what I was told, I also mostly fly thru cities that don't have a big Jewish community (turkey, Athens...)

That makes sense, but CDG/LHR doesn't to me.

Just spoke with Shomrei Hadas the other day, figured I'd update here.
El Al from EWR is safe. As well as Delta from JFK.

AA, UA, and LY ex-JFK (if you don't want to rely on this heter ) all carry meisim, at least some of the time

Although, someone should probably ask Shomrei Hachomos as I did not.

problem with DL from JFK is that even if they dont take, they fly aprox same time as elal and AA, so of their plane is connected to terminal at the same time as AA plane with a meis inside of it, the "טומאת אוהל" can transfer....

wouldn't that apply with all flights out of those terminals

1. AA is in a different terminal than DL.
2.

i have a customer a kohen, who says his rov told him he cannot be in any terminal which services a flight carrying a meis, anytime within 2 hours of departure
