When Trump announces Tuesday what do they do?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I think the Desantis approach of ignoring him seems to be working well.

You can't ignore him in the primaries. MAGA will believe the constant lies.
I can see #DeathSantis playing it safe and waiting until 2028.

It will be more difficult when he is no longer governor.

Right, but there is no reason to give him any extra attention for the next year at least.

I can see #DeathSantis playing it safe and waiting until 2028.

I doubt it. I think he is smart enough to know that he has to take his chance when it comes. He can't expect to be this popular without staying "in the game," especially once
he is no longer governor.

Also, he'll have more "establishment" support if the alternative is Trump. Once Trump is out of the picture they would probably move to a more moderate candidate.

Might sound crazy but it is what they need to break away from this cancer. Liz Cheney for house speaker!

A good way to make sure Republicans don't win an election for a decade.

What the establishment Republicans need is to do is acknowledge the responsibility that they bear for this loss. If they try to claim that only Trump is to blame, then the backlash will be unimaginable.

Instead they should accept the blame that they earned and step aside. Then when they demand that Trump do the same it will be accepted (not by Trump and his most fervent supporters but) by 99 percent of the Republicans.

Rick Scott took a step in this direction by withdrawing from his planned run for Senate Leader.

The main problem is Trump. You need to cut this cancer out from the party. The party is now dead until they accomplish this.

But if they don't recognize why Trump was so popular in the first place, and work to build on what he started they are also dead.

You just don't get it like MAGA doesn't get it. The country has been against Trump from the very beginning. He is a loser!!!

Hard disagree. Trump has to be actively pushed out, otherwise this wave of disillusionment by Trump fans will pass like the ones before did, and come primaries he'll win yet again.

Rs had their shot in 2021 to push him out. They blew it.
Now it's likely we'll have a D in the oval office for the next decade.

Clearly you don't get it.

Keep your head in the sand all you want.

But 137,207,786 votes don't lie.

Fudge whatever number and ideals you want!

Clearly we have different definitions of what it means when the country is against something.

Hint: They don't vote for it!

Keep going down the same path and you will get the same results. When the D's control everything just look in the mirror if you want to know why.

@zh cohen Never said to go down the same path!

He said to look back and figure out why Trump got so many darn votes (Because, guess what, he did!). Why did people like him or not and what policies did they like or not.

To say he's a loser and the country is against him and just act like he never existed is one of the worst takes I've seen here.

Indeed. And the way he is "retired" is just as important to the future of the Republican party as doing it is.
