After much debate, I will be going to Greece (1 week) and Budapest (2 days) for my honeymoon.
We are looking to do more action and natural beauty and less of just sitting around on a beach or in a pool all day.
Please add your thought, comments and suggestions...
Excuse the choppiness of the questions in parenthesis
Starting in TLV. Flying in to Athens on Aug 1. (could only find one award seat on Aegean.... Any ideas?)
Spend day and a half in Athens, pick up some food at Chabad (anyone had trouble bringing food through customs?), then drive (where's the cheapest rental?) to Zakynthos with a stop at Cornith Canal on the way. There is a ferry to get from mainland to Zakynthos with a car.
Spend a few days in Zakynthos (Shipwreck beach, blue caves, scuba diving [anyone can recommend a good place?], maybe rent a speedboat, horseback riding?... Any other ideas??)
Then drive back to the mainland and head north to the monasteries of Meteora (has anyone been there? Is it worth it? Halacha of visiting a monastery??) , Vikos Gorge, and maybe Ioannina and Lake Plastira??
Anything else to do in that area? Is it worth the drive out?
Drive back to Athens and fly to Budapest on Tue Aug 8. (not sure where to find award tickets for that flight. (Haven't really looked at what to do in Budapest yet...)
Fly back to TLV on Thu afternoon or evening (also looking for flights still)
Any other suggestions?
Award hotel ideas?
Kosher food tips?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!!
